Whether that is through your school, family, friends or clubs you attend. Talk to people who are working in accounting and finance roles and see if you can shadow them. This not only gives you valuable experience but puts you in touch with possible future employers.
Communication is important too. Make sure you’re comfortable writing and talking about the numbers. Practise doing this with people who don’t work in finance, and if they understand what you’re saying then you’re winning.
When you go to an interview, make sure that you thoroughly research the company and make a list of questions you want to ask them. This shows great initiative and preparation.
